1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Meralco Maintenance Advisory Bot (the "Bot") via Facebook Messenger, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Bot.

2. Service Description

The Bot monitors the official Meralco (Manila Electric Company) website for publicly posted power interruption maintenance advisories and delivers notifications to subscribed users via Facebook Messenger. The Bot:

• Scrapes Meralco's public maintenance schedule page at regular intervals.
• Filters advisories based on your configured location preferences.
• Sends you a notification when a new advisory matches your subscription.
• Provides on-demand access to recent and today's advisories via the Messenger menu.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Bot. By using the Bot, you represent and warrant that you meet this eligibility requirement.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of the Bot, you agree to:

• Provide accurate location information when setting up your subscription.
• Not misuse the Bot for spam, harassment, or any unlawful purpose.
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the Bot's infrastructure.
• Comply with Facebook's Terms of Service and Community Standards.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Bot is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties, express or implied.

No Affiliation: The Bot is an independent, third-party project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meralco (Manila Electric Company) or any of its subsidiaries.

Information Accuracy: The Bot displays power interruption advisories sourced from Meralco's publicly available website. While we strive to provide timely and accurate information, we cannot guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of the advisories. Always refer to Meralco's official channels for definitive information.

Service Availability: We do not guarantee that the Bot will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from bugs or viruses. The Bot may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Bot, including but not limited to:

• Failure to receive notification of a power interruption.
• Reliance on advisory information that is inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete.
• Any damages resulting from power outages or interruptions, regardless of notification.
• Loss of data, business, or profits resulting from Bot unavailability.

7. Third-Party Services

The Bot relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own terms:

• Facebook Messenger — Governed by Meta's Terms of Service.
• Supabase — Cloud database infrastructure.
• Meralco Website — Source of advisory data; governed by Meralco's own terms of use.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Bot at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, third parties, or the operation of the Bot.

You may terminate your use of the Bot at any time by unsubscribing via the Bot menu or blocking the conversation on Facebook Messenger.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on this page. Your continued use of the Bot after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Philippines.
